Back from my travels and I'm excited about all the treasures I’ve found and the designs I’ve put into work. It may come as a surprise to hear that I was happy to return to a warm home after a few nights in rather cold Delhi apartments. The temperature at night in Delhi in January compares with St Ives or is even lower at times. My travels ranged from pleasantly hot days in Chiang Mai and Mumbai to cool days and nights in Delhi and Kolkata.

Rarely did I see blue sky or sky for that matter. Sadly, these cities are overwhelmingly polluted. Nevertheless, I love my trips and I am never disappointed. Some of my favourite finds include brightly embroidered cotton jersey clothing, perfect for lounging or for holidays; embroidered and embellished bags; a few fun sun hats; Sweetlime’s version of a flip flop and sequin embellished scarves. All are perfect for updating a simple summer look.

As jewellery is my passion, it’s great to supplement the jewellery I make for Sweetlime, with styles I am unable to make or which sit in harmony next to my own creations. I found some fabulous engraved Hill Tribe silver rings and components and I’ve already started to create some styles incorporating the silver beads and charms with bleached wood and ceramic beads. I’m really feeling strongly about naturals this spring/summer.

Later this month, we will give the shop a shake-up and will add the exclusive clothing collection created by designer, Marlyn Clark. This year the collection will include dresses, playsuits and simple trousers. All styles have a relaxed fit and comfort as well as style is an intrinsic part of their design.
